Curriculum Vitae
ARTIST PROFILE
Linda Dumont is a multidisciplinary visual artist whose practice spans painting, drawing, and sculpture for more than fifty
years. Trained at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Dumont began her career with a strong classical
foundation before moving into non-objective abstraction. Her work has evolved through large-scale architectural
abstractions, cityscape series inspired by the Texas Capitol, figurative torso paintings, and sculptural clay busts. A 1996
solo exhibition at the McAllen International Museum marked a pivotal point in her career, leading to major commissions
and large-scale studio work. Since 2016, Dumont has embraced plein air painting, focusing on light, immediacy, and
everyday subjects. She continues to evolve through curiosity, experimentation, and material exploration.
